Chateau Chasse-Spleen 2023

James Suckling:

This is structured and a little tight, with good concentration and volume. It’s medium-bodied with juicy and vibrant fruit coming through. Velvety tannins. Firm and fresh at the end.

Tim Atkin:

Dense and quite oaky nose with rich spices, some cocoa dust and cinnamon. Very inviting and deeply brooding - the black fruit is restrained but clearly destined to burst through. Some mintiness of Cabernet with black fruit, pronounced but quite refined tannins and the beginnings of a palate coating texture. This is a very accomplished Chasse-Spleen indeed, and the quality of well-sited Cabernet in this vintage is readily apparent here.
