Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Echezeaux Grand Cru 2018

Dark fruity nose, lots of cherry, chocolate, almost reminiscent of a Black Forest cake, shows depth. The attack is powerful, rich fruit, clear roasted notes, noticeable but well-packed wood, top structure, due to the vintage clearly more opulent than the delicate 2017 next to it, with a warmer character and more roasted aromas as well as still wild, youthful tannins. The finish seems a bit hot, shows a very good length.
